Open Stage Night at The Underground Theatre

Musicians around Eastbourne are being given the opportunity to perform on a real stage with first-class sound and lighting systems. The Under Ground Theatre (under the main library) will be opening its doors for an Open Stage night on Thursday 17th January.
Running the show will be the master of comic song, John Cave, and singer-songwriter Chis Liddiard, a regular at the Under Ground as a member of “Cornflower Blue”. The music will start at 7.30pm, and will last for three hours, with a short interval. However, the theatre doors will open at 7pm, to ensure everyone has ample time to get a drink and a good seat before the action begins. Entry is FREE!
To get everyone in the mood, the evening will begin with three or four songs from your hosts – who will also be singing a few songs later on, to launch the second half. Otherwise, it will be everyone else’s turn! The night is unlikely to consist of just music. The Under Ground will be happy to welcome all stage performers, however experienced or inexperienced!
The UGT’s advice to anyone hoping to have a go on stage is: arrive as early as you can, and give your name to John or Chris. Every effort will be made to ensure everyone has a turn, but there can be no guarantees.
The theatre bar and coffee-bar will be open throughout, until 10.30pm.
Again, entry is FREE! So if you're looking for a cheap night out, get yourself down there, Eastbourne Guide will definately be there! See you at the Bar!
